BIThe Norwegian School of Management  BI

The Norwegian School of Management BI was established in 1943. Since the late 1940s, BI has been an important part of the Norwegian educational system, with strong links to both the Norwegian and international business and academic communities. The school has developed into a first-class, future-oriented “School of Management” and attracted an ever-growing number of students: with 9,600 full-time and 10,300 part-time students, BI is one of the larger academic institutions in Norway and one of the largest business school in Europe
BI was the first academic institution in Norway to receive international accreditation when awarded the EQUIS accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development in 1999. With 350 full-time faculty members of which more than 50 hold a full professorship, BI hosts Norway’s largest and one of Europe largest and most productive academic environments in the area of business economics and administration, marketing and management.

The ‘Business School of the Future’
The Norwegian School of Management BI is a future oriented business school. This not only shows in the research and teaching carried out but also in the commitment to constantly update and improve teaching facilities. In August 2005 the school will move to a new, tailor- made campus, which in every respect will be the ‘business school of the future’. This campus will be centrally located in an emerging and pulsating business area in Oslo. It will offer students and faculty an exciting learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities and an ultra-modern library

CampusNorway and Oslo
The main campus of the Norwegian School of Management BI is located in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Norway is one of the five Nordic nations, which lie within the northern stretches of the European continent. The country is long and narrow, with more than 30% of the land covered by forests. There are many rivers and lakes and nearly half of the landmass is made up of mountain ranges. Norway’s wonderful nature and countryside simply invite to exciting out-door activities all year around: skiing, mountain hiking, climbing, hunting, cycling, rafting, swimming, golf, sailing etc. Alternatively you can also relax to and enjoy the view of breathtaking fjords and landscapes.
Oslo is a unique city with a population of about half a million people. It is bounded by the Oslo Fjord to the south and unspoiled natural woodlands to the north and east and offers a unique variety in activities: from downhill skiing to exciting nightlife.
